Dr. Carsten Nesshöver is the Acting Citizens Coordinator for the TEEB study. He is a researcher at the Department of Conservation Biology and his scientific interests include: the interface of science and policy as they relate to biodiversity, integrated biodiversity research issues, and the role of biodiversity in ecosystem functioning and services.In addition to his work with TEEB, Carsten is in charge of the development of the national platform for biodiversity research in Germany. He is secretary of the Steering Committee of the European Platform for Biodiversity Research Strategy (EPBRS) and is a member of the Advisory Board of the Global Biodiversity Outlook 3 of the Convention on Biological Diversity.
