Purpose
- To provide young professionals and current students experience in international policy-making with an opportunity to work on economic and biodiversity issues that complement their field of study and also contribute to TEEB objectives.
- To allow students to enjoy hands-on engagement with scientists and experts and support the development of TEEB reports on science and economic foundations, policy evaluation for policy-makers, decision support for administrators, business risks and opportunities and consumer ownership.
- To expose the students to the overall structure of TEEB, its regional goals, communication strategies and final deliverables.
Location of Internship
Internship assignments take place at the TEEB central office located in the United Nations Campus in Bonn, Germany.
Language Requirements
English is the working language at TEEB. Fluency and knowledge of other languages is welcome.
Medical and Health
Please refer to the UNEP guidelines. Candidates are required to provide a medical certificate.
Selection Procedure
Candidates must submit a curriculum vitae and a letter of interest that will be followed by an interview upon selection.
Minimum eligibility criteria
- Enrolled in third or fourth year of under-graduate (BA/BSc) or in a graduate (Masters) or post-graduate (PhD) program.
- Applications from young professionals who have completed their university studies and are interested in gaining experience are welcome.
- Be willing to intern on a full-time basis spending five days a week, usually for a period of three months.
Conditions of Internship
Interns do not receive remuneration and are responsible for accommodation, travel and visa arrangements and costs.
Commencement
Internships will commence from the period starting August 15, 2009 and are typically for a duration of three months.
