Bernd Hansjürgens is head of the Department of Enconomics at UFZ and Professor of Environmental Economics at Martin Luther-University Halle-Wittenberg.

He is also programme speaker at the Helmholtz Programme “Terrestrial Environment”.  His research interests include instrument choice in environmental policy, with a special expertise in institutional aspects of market-based instruments.
