Project Description:
In a Cabinet decision on 28 October 2011, the Norwegian Government established an expert commission on the values of ecosystem services. In line with their mandate, the expert commission on 29 August 2013, presented their report to the Norwegian Minister of Environment, Mr Bård Vegar Solhjell. The report, Norwegian Official Report (NOU) (Norwegian only) presents the status, trends and development of the biological diversity and ecosystem services of Norway.
The expert commission in their analysis drew from the findings and recommendations of the TEEB study on the economics of biological diversity and ecosystem services as well as the discussions from a number of institutions invited to a consultation meeting held 9th May 2012 in Oslo.
The Norwegian government will undertake a public consultation of the commission’s findings, and consider possible policy follow-up.
