Project Description:

The Institute of Landscape Ecology of the Slovak Academy of Sciences conducted two case studies on ecosystem services. One was focused on Agricultural ecosystems in the area of National Park Poloniny (Southeast Slovakia) and other on selected ecosystem services (regulating, habitat, cultural and provisioning services) at national and regional level.

Ecosystem:

1. Agricultural ecosystems in the area of National Park Poloniny (Southeast Slovakia)
2. Selected ecosystem services (regulating, habitat, cultural and provisioning services) at national and regional level.

Local level:  4 case studies representing different types of traditional agricultural landscapes: (1) Traditional Agricultural Landscape with Dispersed Settlements – Kysuce region, Hriňová cadastre area, (2) Traditional Agricultural Landscape of Vineyards – Svätý Jur town, (3) Traditional Agricultural Landscape of Arable-Land, Grasslands and Orchards – Lednica cadastre area, (4) Traditional Agricultural Landscape of Arable-Land and Grasslands – Liptovská Teplička cadastre area.

Scope: National and local.
